DC Talk Reunion?

This could only happen in Nashville and was about as close as we are going to get to a DC talk reunion for a while, when two thirds of DC talk took the stage at Winter Jam. Toby Mac helped close the Newsboys set when he and Michael Tait did Jesus Freak. I was a very cool moment for anyone who was a fan of DC Talk, and the place erupted. I got to talk to both Toby and Tait after their performance and they both had a great time revisiting one of the greatest collaborations in Christian music. Sorry the video looks all bootleg cause but that is exactly what it is.

Graciousness - Careful what you put on twitter.

Sometimes I stumble over the line between speaking truth and speaking with Grace. I was recently on twitter discussing (with my sister) how I'm just not impressed with a certain author because I seriously question their sense of propriety in a certain area.

Well, this author found my post on twitter and it was obvious that their feelings were hurt by what I said. My first thought was: "If you're in the public eye, grown some skin and take some criticism! I didn't say I hated you. I just said I had a hard time time taking you seriously because we disagree on a point."

But then last night I read a passage from Judd Wilhite's book "Stripped". The whole theme of the book is Grace.

Long story short, I was convicted that my opinion could have been shared with more Grace and less publicly. Did I know the author would read my comments? Nah. But anytime we put anything on the internet, ANYONE can read it. And like it or not, you and I are very public representations of Jesus Christ anytime we take to the web with any comments.

Got something negative to say? Say it to your spouse or family in private. Beyond that, keep the lip zipped. Colossians 4:6 - Let your conversation be always full of GRACE, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

There's a HUGE difference in speaking the truth and speaking what you view as the truth in LOVE.

Ketchup Changes?

There's a new look in town for your Ketchup!

It'll allow you to dunk OR squeeze. Looks kind of like a jelly packet you get at a restaurant, doesn't it?

Random, Stupid stuff

My wife and I had a knock down, drag out over a dish scrub brush that I left in the sink last night. Anyone else have stupid fights over tiny things?

In the middle of the fight I'm thinking "Are we really fighting over this?"

We made up. But it makes me wonder what triggers these things? Any other day, a little scrub brush might not have touched off World War III. But today, for some reason, it did.

My wife is such a patient woman. She bears with me and is so kind over stuff much bigger than that so often. But I guess it just goes to show you that any perfect storm can create a tsunami in our homes any given day.

Be kind! Because one day...you yourself may need some kindness.
